Does this sound like you?

Does this sound like you?

You shouldn't have to live like this

You shouldn't have to live in pain

You've tried PT before — it helped for a bit, then the pain came back

You've been told to "just live with it" or "it's part of aging"

Surgery's been recommended — but you want to try non-surgical options first

Pain is limiting what you love — training, your sport, keeping up with your kids, your hobbies

You're stiff in the morning or after sitting for a while

You end up in more pain after trying to stay active, not less

You've had symptoms for years and started to accept it

"I had stress incontinence for years and lower back pain that hadn't been helped by PT, doctor visits, or anything else. One MD even recommended a pain clinic. Katie got me pain free."

"I'm a trainer with a 30-year back injury. I was living with 6-8/10 pain all the time — couldn't sit for 5 minutes, couldn't even bend over to tie my shoes. Dr. Katie's practice is set up to treat the root cause. After just a few months, 30 years of daily pain is GONE."

Treating the pain doesn't fix the cause

Treating the pain doesn't fix the cause

When care focuses only on where it hurts, the pain may ease — but the root cause is still there. That's why it keeps coming back.

At Amplify, we look at your whole body — how you move, where you're compensating, and what's actually driving the pain. Then we create a plan that helps you move better, feel stronger, and stay active long term.

Real results, in their own words

"She helped me with a long-term issue I did not think was fixable. It was! Bonus: I no longer wake multiple times during the night to use the restroom. Her nature is welcoming, authentic, and puts you right at ease."

"After two surgeries I could barely walk and my traditional PT wasn't helping. Dr. Katie's deep understanding of body mechanics and muscle activation allowed her to identify issues that had been overlooked. Today I can walk long distances and even hike again — things I never thought would be possible."

-Jeana

"Hip pain, back pain, and sciatica. I'd exhausted every avenue — years of PT, chiropractic, an injection — and an orthopedic surgeon recommended surgery. Dr. Katie's approach was very different. I'm hiking again, back at the gym, working in my flower gardens, doing all the things I love. She helped me get my life back."

-Carol

"I'm a mid-seventies woman who has always worked out — CrossFit, golf, sailing. Over 6 years my left shoulder became less mobile and painful. With Dr. Katie's skills and my homework, I'm almost pain-free with much better movement. Don't wait 6 years like I did!"

-Sandy

"After a previous failed PT experience, Dr. Katie was a night-and-day difference. I'd lived with low back pain for over a year and thought this was just life as a busy mom. Now I'm pain-free and doing RDLs — I wouldn't have believed it months ago. I have an exercise program I'm confident I can continue for years."

The Whole-Body Connection

The whole-body connection

Back, hip, and SI pain often has a hidden source

Back, hip, and SI pain often has a hidden source

The pelvic floor, core, and hips share a system. When one part isn't working well, the others compensate — and the compensations often show up as back, hip, or SI joint pain that won't resolve. If pelvic floor symptoms sound familiar (leaking, pressure, postpartum issues), the two are often linked.

What people ask about orthopedic PT

What people ask about orthopedic PT

No. Tennessee is a direct-access state, so you can see us without a physician referral.

Do I need a referral?

Almost always yes. We don't believe in "stop everything and rest." We'll help you modify so you can keep moving through treatment.

Can I still exercise while I'm in treatment?

Often yes. Many conditions that have surgery recommended (meniscus issues, rotator cuff, herniated discs, hip labral issues) respond well to conservative care first. If PT isn't the right path, we'll tell you honestly and refer you.

Surgery has been recommended. Should I still try PT first?

Most PT is 20–30 minutes focused on where it hurts. We take 90 minutes for your first visit, assess how your whole body moves, and help you build real strength — not just stretch you out or hand you a theraband. That’s usually the difference between temporary relief and lasting results.

I've tried PT before and it didn't help — why would this be different?

It's not. Many of our patients come to us after years of pain — and most make real, lasting progress. Pain you've learned to live with isn't permanent.

Is it too late if I've had pain for years?

In most cases, no. A thorough movement assessment tells us far more about what's driving your pain than an image does. If we think imaging is needed, we'll refer you.
