Does this sound like you?

Does this sound like you?

You've been told this is "just part of aging" — it isn't

You've been told this is "just part of aging" — it isn't

Leaking that's new or getting worse

Sudden urgency or going more often, especially at night

Vaginal dryness or tissue changes

Sex is uncomfortable or painful — sometimes for the first time

Pressure, heaviness, or a "something is shifting" feeling

Hip, low back, or joint pain that wasn't there before

You feel weaker — strength training that used to work doesn't anymore

You're worried about bone density and don't know how to train safely

You've been told to "just live with it" — and you don't want to

These symptoms are common in this season — they are not, however, something you have to accept. Most are treatable, and pelvic floor PT plays a real role in this stage of life.

"I had stress incontinence for years and lower back pain that hadn't been helped by PT, doctor visits, or anything else. One MD even recommended a pain clinic. Katie got me pain free."

"She helped me with a long-term issue I did not think was fixable. It was! Bonus: I no longer wake multiple times during the night to use the restroom. Her nature is welcoming, authentic, and puts you right at ease."

Why amplify physio

Why amplify physio

Most women are told there's nothing to do but wait it out

Most women are told there's nothing to do but wait it out

Hormonal changes are real, and we won't pretend otherwise. But "it's just hormones" leaves a lot of treatable problems untreated — like a pelvic floor that needs retraining, joint pain that responds to load, and strength that can be rebuilt with the right plan.

At Amplify Physio, we treat the parts of perimenopause and menopause that physical therapy can actually change — and we work alongside your OB, GYN, or physician if hormones are part of the picture too.

Hormonal shifts affect more than the pelvic floor — they change strength, bone density, joints, and how your whole body holds itself together. Here's where we can help.

Hormonal shifts affect more than the pelvic floor — they change strength, bone density, joints, and how your whole body holds itself together. Here's where we can help.

Prolapse & Pressure

Prolapse symptoms often become more noticeable in perimenopause and after menopause. Most can be managed — not just monitored — with the right approach.
  • Pelvic Organ Prolapse
  • Cystocele (Bladder Prolapse)
  • Rectocele (Rectal Prolapse)
  • Pelvic Heaviness & Pressure
  • Symptom Management During Activity

Vaginal & Sexual Health (GSM)

Dryness, tissue changes, and painful sex — sometimes called Genitourinary Syndrome of Menopause (GSM). We address the muscular and tissue components, alongside the medical care your physician provides.
  • Vaginal Dryness Symptoms
  • Dyspareunia (Pain with Intercourse)
  • Tissue Sensitivity
  • Vulvar Pain
  • Anorgasmia (inability or difficulty achieving orgasm)

Bladder Changes

Leaking and urgency often start or get worse in perimenopause. Pelvic floor PT can change this — kegels alone usually can't.
  • Stress Incontinence
  • Urge Incontinence
  • Sudden Urgency & Frequency
  • Nighttime Urination
  • Recurrent UTI Patterns

Strength, Bone Health & Joint Pain

Estrogen affects muscle, bone, and connective tissue — which means strength training and joint care become more important in this season, not less.
  • Loss of Strength / Muscle Mass
  • Bone Density Support
  • Hip Pain
  • Low Back Pain
  • Frozen Shoulder
  • Joint Stiffness

Whole-Body Changes

Balance, core coordination, and returning to (or starting) strength training — the foundational work that pays off for the next 30 years.
  • Core Weakness
  • Pelvic Floor + Core Coordination
  • Balance & Fall Prevention
  • Returning to Exercise
  • Starting Strength Training Safely

"After two surgeries I could barely walk and my traditional PT wasn't helping. Dr. Katie's deep understanding of body mechanics and muscle activation allowed her to identify issues that had been overlooked. Today I can walk long distances and even hike again — things I never thought would be possible."

"Hip pain, back pain, and sciatica. I'd exhausted every avenue — years of PT, chiropractic, an injection — and an orthopedic surgeon recommended surgery. Dr. Katie's approach was very different. Common questions

common questions

What people ask about menopause PT

What people ask about menopause PT

No. Tennessee is a direct-access state, so you can see us without a physician referral.

Do I need a referral?

Estrogen supports the muscles, tissues, and nerves of the pelvic floor. When estrogen drops in perimenopause and menopause, symptoms that weren't there before can show up — even if nothing about your body, lifestyle, or history has changed. It's common, and it's treatable.

I've never had pelvic floor issues before — why now?

For most women, strength training is one of the best things you can do for bone density — when it's done correctly. We'll build a progressive plan that loads bone safely and avoids the movements that aren't right for you yet.

I have osteoporosis or low bone density — is strength training safe?

Yes. Some of this is a tissue issue your physician will help with, but a lot of it is muscular — tension, pelvic floor coordination, and patterns that built up over time. We address what PT can change, and refer when something needs medical care.

Can you help with vaginal dryness and painful sex?

Yes. HRT and PT address different layers — hormones, and how the muscles, joints, and tissues actually move. They work well together. We'll coordinate with your physician if helpful.

I'm on HRT (hormone replacement therapy) — should I still do PT?

For the right symptoms — yes, meaningfully. PT can directly improve leaking, urgency, painful sex (the muscular and tissue components), prolapse symptoms, joint pain, and loss of strength. It can't change the hormones themselves, but it can change how your body feels and functions in this season.
